Many took up residence at The Tabor Grand on Harrison Avenue, a hotel that had been constructed by the wealthiest silver baron Leadville had ever known. Leadville was welcoming and quaint with "gingerbread" Victorian houses that the miners and their families called home. On the weekends the miners hung out in bars and as today, Leadville's architecture, traditions, and culture became captivating.
