LoDo's red-brick structures, a great deal of which were built following an 1863 fire, are maintained in the historic manner which symbolizes the area. Ride the complimentary shuttle that takes people from Civic Center Plaza down the 16th Street Mall into LoDo every 90 seconds.

Downtown has two distinctive areas: the modern, window-paneled skyscrapers on the east, and the city's treasured historic region, Lower Downtown (LoDo), on the west. Situated between Coors Field and the Pepsi Center, LoDo is Denver's premier location for partying after an Avalanche, Nuggets or Rockies game, or for spending time out during the week. You can have a great time late into the night in one of the 90 bars and pubs the area boasts.

Close to LoDo, the hot dog stand on 16th & Arapahoe is among Downtown Denver's best-kept secrets. Various types of unusual meats such as buffalo, venison, and elk along with unique "hot dogs" can be found by mall walkers.
